Yup I put down Asian in the past and it always confused them because they expect everyone from Asia to be from China. I used to leave it blank and when I'm usually harassed by cops and given a citation, they put me down as Hispanic which has almost always been the case. White Americans are very funny and strange when it comes to race and ethnicity. Middle East people are expected to put down white but socially they're not accepted as such. Even Arabs with pale skin are not accepted as white because they happen to be Muslim or don't have the same person as a western European person. I also love how eastern Europe is looked down upon and face discrimination from western Europe but yet white racists take pride in ancient Greece when that's on the border of Asia in eastern Europe. When one of Muslim friends used to travel, the immigration workers would ask him what kind of Muslim he was And be would just say a "fat one".
