"...they don't speak Arabic, they don;t know the culture..." -- I was with a couple of Muslim girls a few days back discussing the situation in the Mid-East and how little non-Arabic Western "experts" know about the culture and the Arab mind. Then I shifted the conversation to the pro-Israeli Christian Zionists whom at heart are anti-Semites but are staunch supporters of the Israeli Right, as they organize to help get Jews from all over the globe to settle in Israel, setting into motion the coming of the END TIMES and the arrival of Jesus the Messiah, who will give all his groupies backstage passes to get into Heaven, but only 144,000 are available for Jews, leaving the remaining of the 15 million Jews in the world with the rest of us sinners. While we laughed about the ridiculousness of this type of mentality, my friend who is a Sunni Muslim said that Muslims also believe in the END TIMES and the return of the Mahdi, and that it will all begin with a war in Syria. This is one reason, we thought, why many young Muslims are flocking to join to fight in Syria; in addition to the enormous amounts of money the Saudis and the Qataris are waving in front of their faces. The Shia also believe in the return of the Mahdi, the 12th Imam whom they call "Imam az Zaman", who some claim is hiding in a well waiting for the END TIMES as a cue for him to rise.
