Some of the women I've dated from Irish-Catholic ancestry told me some horror stories of sexual abuse, alcoholism and violence at the hands of their fathers, brothers, uncles... I even knew a young woman who's Irish-American grandfather had raped and molested her. She had a nervous breakdown while attempting to make a documentary film about the abuse she suffered. During her research she interviewed her mother and found out that the grandfather had also raped and abused her mother and aunts, sometimes using his sons (her uncles) to do the raping while he watched and gave orders. As Norman Mailer said, we humans are shit!
