I agree, but we still have a long way to go.. to tolerate a person is one thing when they come out - and especially - when they contribute so much to the social economy. But I still hear "tolerant" people say things like "well you know how 'faggots' are or 'niggers' or 'muslims'" (or fill in the blank). If there were no laws granting all people Civil Rights and Human Rights, there would still be lynchings and gay bashings... there still are, as long as the sophisticated cavemen can get away with it by reciting the bible or Aquinas or Socrates: "What would Socrates say? All those Greeks were homosexuals. Boy, they must have had some wild parties. I bet they all took a house together in Crete for the summer. A: Socrates is a man. B: All men are mortal. C: All men are Socrates. That means all men are homosexuals. Heh... I'm not a homosexual. Once, some cossacks whistled at me. I happen to have the kind of body that excites both persuasions. You know, some men are heterosexual and some men are bisexual and some men don't think about sex at all, you know... they become lawyers." - Woody Allen "Love and Death" --------------------- |
