Is the Levy officer mentioned in the text Malik Yaqu? The father of Ismael Malik from Syria - the same bloke who shot and killed Mar Eshai Shimun in San Jose? He (Malik Yaqu) continued to work with the British after the '30s in Iran, I think, when the Brits, Russians and Americans occupied Iran during WWII. I have a book at my aunt's written in our language (which I cannot read) that has a picture of him at my grandfather's house in Tehran sitting among a group of British officers during the early '40s. When I was a kid I had a painted portrait of him which I later gave to one of the Qashas when I moved to LA. He tried to help my family immigrate to Canada, but stopped short when my grandfather pulled an Assyrian on him and told him he's bringing 25 other relatives along.
