...but didn`t the British cut short their mandate? Isn`t that what set people in a panic? Also, the lack of response of the Brits to the Semele killings seems to indicate they wanted nothing more to do with the Nestorians...but instead wanted to cozy up to and therefore use and manipluate the Iraqi government...they squeezed all the benefit they could out of the Nestorians...now they were going to squeeze Iraq.

My grandafther was one of those who advised against any such moves...thoguh he did and fight and serve as doctor for Agha Pourous and his band...I guess he`d had enough...it seems those who waded into Syria were followers of Mar Shimoun.
