The "State's Rights" position is sheer fraud..it's an ongoing attempt to exempt Racists and Sexists from Federal Law which rules our democracy...yes, State's have their own rights, but the Constitution clearly says that their rights are are not inviolable.....our form of government is Federalist...Federal laws come first, then those of the states....when a state's law goes contrary to the Federal Constitution, the state loses.

The only people blowing hard about State's Rights are Southerners who are still pissed about the Civil War and then the Civil Rights movement and also Women's Rights and on and on...Most Southerners resent the fact that Federal Law trumps their "right to be free", which means the freedom to discriminate and dominate...they figure in their southern states there are enough HeeHaws that if put to a vote, Civil Rights legislation and the rest of it would be voted down....

For people who harp on and on about our Great American way of life, they are most ignorant of what means, of what our Constitution actually says....just as in religion they want their opinions to become our laws.
