Hi Minimi, I would love to have a constructive discussion with Pancho to disprove his views on Christianity but my knowledge in the bible isn't intimate so I'll find it helpful and encouraging if you would join me. I don't think Pancho's an idiot, but rather the contrary. I'm glad there's something to disagree with and to debate about. I've been lurking here for a while but didn't think of anything new to say because I agreed with all his views (esp. those on Assyrian nationalism). You wanted to initiate an actual discussion by first defining the word "truth". I'll try. Well a statement is true if it conforms with a fact. So truth is kind of, I think, a description of the statement. A statement can be judged true or factious either through observation or through deductive reasoning. Truth can also mean honesty, as opposed to a lie. I'm sure there's a more sophisticated philosophical definition of it. --------------------- |
