....do you not believe the Bible? Do you not believe the godpel of St John...do you not believe the words of Jesus? I've put the quote up here...I can get you the page and reference and chapter if you'd like. I am not making this up...our Muslim friend added a letter by a Cardinal of the Catholic Church that makes the point that it is NOT allegorical, but real...that the bread and wine are ACTUALLY turned into flesh and blood...I understand that it's a difficult thing to deal with, but that doesn't change the fact that this is exactly what Christians and Jesus mean.

>You wanted to initiate an actual discussion by first defining the word "truth". I'll try. Well a statement is true if it conforms with a fact. So truth is kind of, I think, a description of the statement. A statement can be judged true or factious either through observation or through deductive reasoning. Truth can also mean honesty, as opposed to a lie. I'm sure there's a more sophisticated philosophical definition of it.

..in this case the issue was Christian TRUTH...what is TRUTH as Jesus saw it and as the Church has preached it...obviously I don;t approve of such truths...I do NOT believe that one has to practise cannibalism to show "love" for Jesus...these things were put in his mouth by pagans trying to make his new religion appealing to Romans and others...but that still isn't the issue...the issue is very simply; DOES the church teach and DID Jesus preach, cannibalism...REAL cannibalism and not "symbollic". That's all. Regardless of what you personally feel about it, how can anyone claim it is NOT taught in Christianity?

..it seems the church, Jesus himself and recent pronouncements by church officials go to great lengths to make sure we understand that it is ACTUAL flesh and blood and NOT allegorical. How can there be an "argument" about this? Not about whether Jesus really SAID these things, that's a separate issue...the issue is that this waht the church TEACHES...and that therefore I am right when I say it teached CRIMES...because cannibalism is a CRIME..."allegorical cannibalism" isn't! But it is indeed a questionable "symbol" to use on young minds...and most disgusting.

..the only real argument possible is the one Minime tried to make, and that is that nowhere is this expounded OFFICIALLY or authoritatively...in other words, it was just a matter of "opinion" or "interpretation", probably put forth by people who "hate" Christainity. They only way to make his case would be if we could NOT find any direct and authjoritative statement...but we FOUND it! In the Bible itself...in the gospel of St John where Jesus SAYS it...therefore his objection isn't valid....because we FOUND what he asked for...and now he wants to run off and discuss "universal truth".
