Great post!! It's disgusting how the far-right has gained momentum here in the states, in Europe, and in Israel, where, As Gideon Levy calls the Left in Israel, "an orphaned movement... without parents". I'm acually surprised that the Palestian professor at Columbia got his tenure, as you saw what happened to Norman Finkelstein, an American Jew, when he challenged the staus quo.

Interestingly, the other night I wathced an interview of Waleed, the supposed former P.L.O. member. He was adamantly proposing that Islam is a "Terrorist religion" and attacking the moderate interpretation of the late, Edward Said, who also taught at Columbia. As far as him being a fraud, I can't say, but the fact that each time I hear a convert from Islam to Christianity, or from Judaism to Chrisitianity, in the case of Benjamin Freedman, who in his speech in 1961 claimed of a "Jewish conspiracy to take-over the world" and was almost regurgitaing the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion", it makes me wonder who's really pulling their stirngs. I think we can agree that only religion whose intolerance and hegemony has historically been documented and proved is and has been Christianity.
