...you do that...but even by the forties..or the 1920s, some in the church were already thinking ahead...¨"what if we added Assyrian to our name...wouldn´t that give us a claim to a nation and therefore a Christian country...it`s worth a try"...also...in the MidEast our Christianity made us distinctive and set us apart from the Muslims and other Christian sects..and you know how we thirst for sectarian battles...unfortunately in the West, in America, there is a Christian in every wide spot in the road...we were no longer distinctive and couldn`t count on religion alone to hold us together, meaning the competing parishes and churches...for our children could marry anyone, so long as he or she was Christian, Italisn, Polish, Lithuanian, Flounder(from Flanders)..however, with the addition of the name Assyrian, we were once more unique and set apart and could insist our children marry pure Assyrian...since "pure Christian" was already driving us apart...and so it goes...and so we went.

As Gaby`s crude joke makes clear...the Jew today is recognizable...we recognize what we believe are his ageless and enduring traits...he has changed little...so we keep insisting...you tell me which of these fools is a recognizable Assyrian...from as far back as the Jews and Assyrians hail? Name one.
