I am sorry to differ with you one the NPR report about Masoud. NPR is pure Kurdish propaganda that polishes everything about the Kurds. It romanticizes their struggle giving it a humanistic face to the rest of the world. Struggle they have, but it was not because of Masoud’s planning and design. They hit the jackpot when the other genius (Harvard graduate) decided the Iraq had WMD and that the Iraqi would welcome him and his army with open kindness as long as he got rid of Saddam. Had it not been for Bush’s misadventure in Iraq the Masoud fellow would still be on his knees receiving butt-kicks from Saddam (as we say in Assyrian “Ishta min Masoud w-rapsa min Saddam’. That said, I will agree that our people struggle seem to be with each other and that is not a struggle at all. In that regard they are dumber than pre-Kurdish safe haven. Our politicians keep talking about “armed struggle” and they could be referring how they are killed and how other take arms against them. That is not what I call armed struggle. Perhaps you should write an article on this. Take care. --------------------- |
