I don't remember reading a single line about that in U.S. papers. That's why I like Isreal's Haaretz.. plus I love the op-ed pieces by Gideon Levy. If you watch the film I posted earlier (shit what was the title?) anyway it's on the thread, it talks about the pressures on U.S. media from AIPAC (not only AIPAC, and I'm not trying to push some Jewish conspiracy shit) but there are forces that limit debate in this country and impose guidelines so that newspapers begin censoring themselves. In this film, they interview one of the Israeli officers, they interview Rabbis (Rabbi Michael Lerner who edits Tikkun) who are against the occupation. I don't know if you saw the debate panel from the early '80's with Finkeslstein. Who do you think was representing AIPAC? CNN's Wolf Blitzer. Now, how are we to trust his reporting when it comes to future conflicts in the region where U.S. and Israeli interest are at stake? --------------------- |
