Tiglath, I have that quote from Jeremiah too. It is great proof of Christmas' pre-Christian origins. The other one I adore is where queen Shamiram wrote, "on the anniversary of my late husband's birth, Nimrod would visit the evergreen tree and leave gifts under it" His birthday fell on the winter solstice, December 25th. I only took bits and pieces of my original article on the origins of Christiams, and posted it here. The full article I am writing is not yet finished. Hope to post it in a few days or weeks. It was intended to be sent to the Assyrian Academic Society, but I can post it here and in Zinda as well, so that EVERY ASSRIAN can read it. Thanks for your interest. --------------------- |
