The latest version which I came to comment about our language that the ' SYRIAC/ASSYRIAC' language is not ARAMAIC as is not an ASSYRIAC , but it is as much ASSYRIAC/SYRIAC as it is ARAMAIC, the reason I said that is that the Semitic languages of the FERTILE CRESCENT were very close to each other and further they intermingle with each other, when most of these languages wrote in cuneiform and when they switched to the SINAI Alphabet all of them used that Alphabet again, so these language are kin to each other that when you apply to them any uniform system of writing they will be appear very unified.

After the ARAB occupation - and some parts like central Syria - even before the OCCUPATION , the ARABIC language was introduced to a point that these people by the 8th century A.D. the local languages disappeared UNLIKE UPPER MESOPOTAMIA i.e., ASSYRIA that they preserved their SYRIAC language more than any of their brothers, the same could be said about the southern Mesopotamian , the CHALDAEAN also by 10 A.D. their language was replaced by the ARABIC language.

Actually, the SYRIAC language in the north was very close in both sister Churches , i.e., the Nestorian and the Jacobite Churches, UNFORTUNATELY the division created these deferences in PRONUNCIATION that emerged the so called WESTERN or EASTERN, the force behind it is the religion/denomination.

A case in point, JUST observe our brother MATAY who is a Jacobite pronounced letter ' B ' as ' waw ' as it is in the EASTERN SYRIAC, but the western SYRIAC they keep it as a solid ' B ' .

In any event, I know and met the Jacobites of IRAQ, actually, they most likely are more close to the NESTPRIANS than those of TUR ABDEN, could be one thing that they CONVERTED to be JACOBITES while they were NESTORIANS before , but bottom line my Friend ASSYRIAN MUSLIM , you could persuade a person who is not familiar with the language and the area , BUT YOU CAN'T PERSUADE ME WITH ALL DUE RESPECT that if you are from IRAQ as you claim , YOU SPEAK WESTERN SYRIAN, because you don't ! - VIVA ASSYRIA . ܬܐܚܐ ܐܬܘܪ

NOTE: YOU STARTED YOUR STATEMENT IN OUR LANGUAGE - which I truly commend you- just take a look at it again - PSHAYNO / should be in western SYRIAC , ' FSHAYNO !
