You see brother Jumbalat that all depends on the individual. A person doesen't have to stop being a German if the person is a Communist, a Christian or Muslim or whatever. That all depends on the individual and how proud he is of his ancastry. The Tukic people for example, they have great history in eastern Asia and they been Muslim for over 1,300 years yet they still speak their language and know what and who they are. That is the case for others as well. Like China has over 80 million Muslims and they are still Chinese. Russia has 60 million Muslims yet they still Russian. That is the case everywhere u go. Whether Sennegal, Indonesia, Europe etc. So the same goe for us. We may accept different beliefs, ideaologies, religions etc, but we shouldn't stop being who we are after that. Unfortunately, this problem is very huge among our people. Take for example when an Assyrian girl marries someone from the Chaldean church, many will start saying oh she became Chaldean, and over time that person may stop saying he/she is Assyrian, but that is wrong. God created all nations, languages and peoples so why should someone deny his/her ethnicity by accepting another deen.

I am Muslim, and I am also Assyrian and I accept both and that don't change how I feel about being Assyrian or about my ancastors. But I do disagree with ppl changing identity once one converts to another religion. I met an Assyrian the other day who belonged to the Chaldean church before and him and his sister been Muslims for over 20 years and they didn't even call themselves Assyrian when they were with the Catholic, but they called themselves Chaldean, and now they say they are Assyrian. They still speak their language and know their identity. Look at those Muhlamis for example; after centuries of accepting Islam I heard they still say theu Assyrian although they may not speak their language, but no one should stop being who he is by conversions.

Also you have to keep in mind that there are many ignorant people in the middle east whether whether they call themselves Muslims or Christians or whatever, they may say they are. I have seen ignorant people convert to another religion because of food, money, marriage or whatever, and at the same time, I see educated well learned westerners accepting Islam and becoming some of the best scholars ever. So it all depends on the individual, but no matter what belief one accepts, he or she should never cease being what ever nation they belonged to. So yeah I am proud to be Assyrian and I am also thankful for God guiding me to the straight and correct way. Anyways akhuna poosh pshena u Allaha minookh.
