You noticed how it is totaly acceptable for a whitey to say anything he wants about others without care or even checking the facts, yet they become insulted or heart broken when someone such as Wright points out their crimes. If the Iraqis are wrong for fighting the occupation, the Americans were wrong then for fighting the British or the Jews who fought the Romans. They may be viewed as insurgents by the occupaying force but to me they are only doing what every human has the right to do and that is defend yourself. The American soldier voluntereed to join the military and go over sees to fight for his "freedom" while his freedom is being stripped from him at home by his own government. The Iraqis, nor the Afghans are taking away the "freedom" of the American people but it is their own administrations doing it step by step. As for the "Radical Islam" bullshit that has become the new "enemy" of ours, there is no such thing and Americans are much smarter than what our media our government things of them. To convince the American that few Arabs is the mountains of Afghanistan, if they are even really there, are such a threat to the United States, this is an insult to the American. There is no such thing as radical, moderate, wahabbi, and whatever new label they have invented. There is Islam and there are Muslims. The Television is the biggest propaganda weapon of this age and we are screwed if we get our information from them. All these years we been told about the Taliban being bad and abusing women, being anti-women education, etc, was all a lie all along. The Taliban and the Afghan people are not anti-educatio at all. The schools that the Taliban has attacked are American, British and other western Christian funded schools. They are propaganda schools and this is where the children get their minds poisoned by propaganda. If I were in Afghanistan, I wouldn'tsent my children to such schools neither and I would make sure they don't exist. The Afhani women do go to school and they get educated, but it is these western schools that are attacked and hated. Of course the media will spin it around to tell us another story. Am I going to listen to what such a silly media has to say or will I check my source of information, and that is exactly what I do. The Muslim woman is the first teacher for the child and how can she teach the child if she herself is uneducated? How can Muslims who claim to be followers of the Prophet Muhammad(saaws) be anti education when they should know this? They aren't anti education but they are anti propaganda and I don't blame them at all and I have to change my position about all the horrible things I said about them over the years. I was speaking without knowledge at all. Another country that I have been a huge critic of and said some horrible things about is Saudi Arabia and how I always heard on the media that women have no rights there and all this other bull shit. I know an educated American who works in the oil industry in Saudi and I asked him couple days ago about the treatment of women and he is not a Muslims and his exact words were "it depends on what you mean by freedom". If we are talking about women walking around nude or near that then no they can't do that but is that what freedom is really all about? There are some disatvantages such as women not being able to drive or go places alone which is wrong but other than that they get educated, they got money, they spent tons of money on doing their hair and nails as one female told me. I no longer pay attention to what is on tv and I will do reseatch elsewhere before I say anything about things I have no idea of. That doesn't change how I feel about the Saudi government nor how I feel about their constitution but it changes some previous views I held against them. --------------------- |
