The Romans had been very tolerant of Christians,as they were of Isis and Astarte and any number of the gods of their over 100 conquered nations...they only became intolerant when they became Christiansthemsleves and forced conformity on everyone...you should read what Byzantines did to "heretics". > > > The trouble for them began with the treachery and ingratitude of the Levies...and it was started not by Iraqi Christians but by Turkish and Persian Christians who´d made themselves unwelcome in their own countries, for the same reason: taking up arms against their nations on behalf of the Allies. > >Many countries in the Middle East were artificially created by the Europeans. They created bogus ethnicities, or nationalities, and give them a country, while deliberately depriving others, such as Kurds and Palestinians, from having their own state. ...true. But treason is punished by all countries....and in the case of treasonous Christians, they had been doing it for over 300 years or every time some Christian nation attacked their homeland...like they still are. > >I wouldn’t be surprised if certain groups found this to be unjust and decided take matters in their own hands. ...you can always do that....but the penalty if you fail is not "genocide" or "mass murder"..it´s called justice...as meeted out by scared governments who try to restablize their lands...every country on earth has done it and would do it...you´re only ahero if your rebellion succeeds...you´re hanged as a traitor if you fail...everyone understands this. > > > In the last ten years Christians haven´t left Iraq because of anything Iraq did to them > >Mostly, yes. But some did leave due to threats and attacks from extremists. ...definitely. No doubt many Turks were pissed as hell when their relatives were murdered by gangs of Armenians in some other part of the empire....as were Iraqis who had a dughter raped by a US soldier...or a son thrown into Abu Ghraib or stolen away toanother country...hell look at what America did to 700,000 Iraqi children under the age of five...if that isn´t genocide, what is? > > > and, again, assyrians went to work for the occupiers and ex-patriot assyrians joined the attacking armies in a completely illegal war. > >The majority of those who joined and worked for the “occupiers” were not Christians. ...they don´t have to be. One is enough...under extremem conditions such as Iraq has been subjected to. There wasn´t a single Iraqi among the 19 who flew into those buildings...yet millions have been made to suffer for it. > > Once again, and quite naturally, for human behavior, the Christian population brought the anger of Muslims against them, not for their religion but for what they DID.. > >Christians in Iraq did nothing to warrant anger towards them. ..that´s just not true. For one thing, even before this war, assyrians were engaged in sedition, which is illegal in every country...but to do it in wartime makes it treason...calls for "our own land" and "our homelands were stolen from us" constitute sedition, in wartime, treason. ...are you familiar with the American Indian Movement of the 1970s...? Native Americans occupied many sites that were there´s, by legal treaty, Alcatraz Islan for one...the FBI desceded on them, many were killed and some are in prison yet...meetings were broken up, building damaged etc and the movement crushed...even though Native Americans have in their possession treaties signed by Congress and presidents...what they did was sedition...and in time of war it would have been treason. ...if America can go to war with Iraqis who did "nothting to warrant anger against them"...why can´t Iraqis feel anger towards Christians...towards ANY Christians since the United States went to war with ANY Muslims? > > > that and the fact that those attacking the country were also Christian...I´m sure you understand how this would make all Iraqi Christians less than well-liked... > >I don’t see the connection. What does the behavior of some “Christians” in one country has to do with other Christians in another country? ..it isn´t "some behavior" it´s an ILLEGAL war...a war instigated on the basis of what all admit now were lies, and yet it goes on...it isn´t nothing when US Sanctions cause the death by starvation and disease of 700,000 Iraq children under the age of five...this is hardly just "some behavior". > >So basically you are saying that there is a valid, understandable, or legitimate excuse for the aggressive behavior of some people towards innocent Christians. ...so long as Christans use that same argument against innocent Muslims...yes, why not? If injustice and cruelty and group-punishment, even for those who did NOTHINg to deserve it can win the approval and support of the coalition of Christian nations attacking Iraq for all these years...if it´s acceptable and legal and okay for Christians to murder and rape those who never did anything to them...why do you condemn Muslims for learning the same behavior, from Christians? > >What do you think of 9/11? ...I think it was the best thing that happened to the American Christian Right. > > > the answer is; WAR...war brought by Christians, just as it was brought to Turkey in 1914... > >I’m not much into history. What I know is that Turkey sided with the Germans, which is why it was attacked. Neither this nor the recent war against Iraq has anything to do with religion. ...The Germans forced themselves on the Sultan...who didn´t trust any Euro Christians..he knew damn well what they all wanted...the Germans however decided to get the oil by being friendly and because they had their old axes to grind with the Brits....Turkey allied itselńf with the Germans because it needed ONE industrialzed nation on its side...because it knew what was coming. ...obviously you don´t remember all the statements made by Bush...and others, that this is a war FOR the Christianreligion and way of life....Bush even slipped and called this war a Crusade...but his advisors quickly got him to apologize...and given what we see happening in America over religious freedom...how can you say this is not about religion? Of course they aren´t going to admit that up front, though it slips out occasionally..but this is most definitely about making religion a REASON for these wars. > > > it took this recent Christian jihad to change conditions in Iraq for Christians...and it is this, this war and not Muslim "hatred" that has forced many Christians to get out and settle "all over the MidEast". > >I would not call it a “Christian Jihad”. But yeah… Christians and Muslims suffered alike. ....when someone rapes your sister and she fights back... do they both "suffer alike"? They both suffer...but "alike"? really? --------------------- |
