Don't forget about how we're making the Brits spend all that tax money wasting on making sure that Julian Assange doesn't leave for Ecuador, the nation whose president honors Assange's LEGAL request for asylum. Of course the Iranian deep state (Sepa Pasdaran, Aka., the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corp - IRGC) hates any type of journalism unless it's Sepa-sanctioned propaganda. The Sepa, like the Cheka of the Soviet Union, was formed to protect and promote the Revolution, and like the Cheka, it has over time morphed into what the KGB became, and just as the KGB ruled over the USSR, does Sepa control every aspect of Iranian life, inside and outside the country. So a journalist whose Persian father met his American mother in the San Francisco of the 1960s where they married and began their family, and the journalist (Jason) decides to go and work in Tehran and gets arrested for espionage by a Sepa-run court, should not surprise anybody.
