I like the way it refers to the first Vietnam flashpoint as how it all began. Vietnam, much like Afghanistan did for the USSR, destroyed the US economy and forced it to stop tying its dollar to US gold but instead tie it to Middle Eastern bacl gold reserves using dollar hegemony.

September 11, merely accelerated the resultant boom-bust cycles leading to the economic decline of the US.
