You not going to destroy isis by bombing and fighting and making more people angry. The war on terror only created more terrorists just as the war on drugs created more crime and bigger prisons. There wouldn't even be an isis running around in Syria or Iraq had it not been for the US and its allies who destablized those countries which were at least stable and secure. As for the boy refusing to shake hands, that don't make him a terrorist. That's done out of respect and most often it is actually cultural and not an Islamic teaching. I think William Blum for as much as I like him is being a little biased and perhaps prejudice. Ordinary Muslims, yes traditional ones who actually practice their religion without hatred or violence are fully capable of handling radical groups. In fact it was the grand shaykh of Dagestan who kicked salafis out of his land with help of the government. Muslims rejected such people long ago. It was Britain and now the US who made these clowns relevant. Often times these extremists prey on the most ignorant and uneducated who are often unemployed. I don't exactly see ordinary educated Muslims joining such groups and their "imams" are definitely suspicious because they seem to lack basic knowledge of Islamic science of hadiths and Qur'an. They almost remind me of the "ex Muslims" who suddenly popped up on YouTube few years ago who didn't even know basic Islamic things, I'm talking about things that even some of the least interested Muslims know. --------------------- |
