...I didn't mean they actually disappeared, but assimilating to suchb an extant and over 2500 years means they kept no memroy of their ancient identity and they blended and mixed their bloodline with countless other people...but still, why then are there no Babylonians left today...or Hittites...or Sumerians...or Amorites? And if they all assimilated, as you say, then what makes you think the Assyrians didn't? How is it that they managed to stay Assyrian while all those other people assimilated and lost their ancient identities and memory?

..actually you are in agreement with Dr Joseph...he too says the Assyrians were assimilated. like the rest...that they didn't "disappear", in any genetic sense...they just forgot and then became other things....

...maybe it's unfortunate for you...but from where I stand there will never be peace in BetNahrain until the last Christian leaves...or converts. Even then there won't be peace..but at least the Christian pretext which the West has used will be gone...the faster they assimilate the better for everyone.

...never mind the dramatics...but the majority of Christians in that region converted just as soon as Islam conquered it...it's no surprise...people went into one religion, and then out of it and into another one...happens all the time...especially when there are rfeards for doing so. Sure Saddam's family was Christian once...and he's as much a Nestorian, with all those cultures in his background, as the rest of us.

...you missed the point...if you accept that all the other people assimilated then that means the Assyrians did too. As far as any modern government of that region is concerned, there ARE no modern Assyrians...just as there are no modern Babylonians...or Sumerians...or Hitites...or Amorites. Neither Iraq, Turkey, Iran or Kurdistan will ever accept your claim to be lineal descendants of the ancient Assyrians. Especially when you want guarantees or special consideration based on such claims...and, more than that, as long as you use the language and a desire to teach it in your own schools as a front for teaching sedition, the governments of those countries will shut you down and evn outlaw the language, as they have ever right and reason to do...again, the mistakes begin with you...and drag the governments into it.

Once agin you "almost" got it right...what you say about the rest of them is true also of Assyrians...they assimilated and blended in long ago...to be "discovered" by the Euros.
