I also saw that documentary a few months back and highly recommend it. According to Noam Chomsky's latest book Perilous Power he describes how past economic boycotts against protaganist states, such as Israel, have failed precisely because they are so broad and all encompassing. What's needed is a precision campaign against a specific company responsible for a specific policy. For example US foreign policy is controlled by the Industrial-Military (Congressional) complex, whose biggest and most easily influenced company is Boeing. A targetted campaign that uses Consumer Boycott, Investor divestment and Worker strikes would cripple the company and force a change in US foreign policy. Making war non-profitable for these companies is the only way to prevent future Iraqs. --------------------- |
