Why would they lead their country into such foolish and risky behaviour that cost their economy so much and lose them their jobs to boot? ...why? Because the three trillion dollar surplus we built up under Clinton was there for the taking. Why do corporations pollute the very air and water THEY need? Because short-term gains and power trump all else. The two parties take turns...and this is at the core of the seemingly weird fact that the Dems don't really challenge the Repubs...they can't because they're BOTH in the same business...interested persons merely pick one ideology over the other as the WAY in which they can get elected...but both parties want power for the same reason...even down to chipping away at the Constitution....in the end it comes down to Class...never mind Black or female...it's the Rulins Class and the country can't survive wioth a steady dose of Republican rule...the Dems have to come in just in time to "save" the day...so the Repubs have something to loot the next time around. ..Repubs impeached Clinton over a blow job...but Dems won't touch Bush over crimes against humanity!!! Go figure. > >There has to be a pay-off somewhere. > >I believe that the only reason why they would act so stupidly is to maintain the current economic order and their hegemony. The fact that a black man has been allowed to become President shows that the constitution and the rights it guaranatees are secondary when compared to their over-riding hegemonic goal. ...yes...and you have to become white before you can be a Black president...same with so many women who had to become male to gain office. It's incidental that Obama is Black...what he ACTUAALY is is far more important...and he's a man, Black or Blue, who wants to expand tghe war into Afghanistan, Pakistan AND Iran. It didn't take a Black man to do this...except that the nation went hysterical over the IDEA of a "revolution" in America...but what Obama is ofering is NOT revolutionary...it looks like even more of the same...except that he'll take the "unpopular" steps needed to build up the Treasury again. --------------------- |
