Based on this history I'm reminded of Einstein's quote about insanity being "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." In this case, it was the same results: getting beaten and killed again and again. Shedaneh!! Also, I'm not a fan of the Shah nor the Ayatollah or the Mullahs, but the Assyrians in Iran, especially under the Shah, lived pretty decent lives as Assyrians (with Churches, clubs, peroidicals, and even a representative in the Majles)... I personally never felt any pressure or hate from Iranians, quite the opposite, I was always made to feel proud by them for being Assyrian. My history professor in the US used to say that one of the biggest mistakes the Assyrians made was to accept Christianity as their religion; the other was to be the pawn of the colonial west. --------------------- |
