....This fellow, this engineer who, in his spare time, has refuted actual scholars, he thinks, engages in such cute tricks as actually quoting Joseph, or Crone and Crook, or even Georges Roux, except he thinks his tricks remain hidden...for instance, after quoting Roux to the effect that there is no such thing as modern assyrians, he next says that Roux "contradicts himself later", without giving us THAT quote...he just says, "but this is contradicted later"...where? Where does Roux "later contradict himself"? And how does he contradict himself? ...he also quotes part, only part, of a response he received back from a scholar who seems to be supporting the engineer....now, I've been in contact with university Assyriologists too and have found them polite and very hesitant to definitively state that there are no modern assyrians...what they all seem to prefer is to say there can be no actual evidence but that WE certainly think we are! It's as if they don;t want to burst our bubble needlessly...in other words, if we want to believe it, they won;t be the ones to say we're mistaken. He also has the gall to quote Joseph, and then "prove", to Maggie's satisfaction, that Joseph doesn;t know what he's talking about...to understand the depth and breadth of the stupidity of such people just imagine Joseph writing a book on engineering, and then printing it himself and then PRAISING himself on discovering "real engineering", which those idiot engineers got all wrong. How embarrassing for us all. --------------------- |
