...just imagine....you're a supposed assyrian living next to this suspicious mound, this heap of dust that's been there for 3000 years...it's the only high spot for miles and miles, the rest of the country being flat....you supposedly KNOW you're assyrian...you know your history, you know Nineveh is nearby,,,you know the ruins of Assyrian palaces must be somewhere...like maybe under those suspicious mounds...you're PROWD to be assyrian...you have a lot of assyrian POWER...you know everything assyrians, and the rest of the world, knows today...you know there must be sculptures and inscriptions and gold objects and all manner of things that could prove to the "dumb" Arabs that you really ARE the indigenous people they stole Assyria from...and knowing all this you continue to walk around the mounds...you don't dip a single shovel into the side of one of them (something the Euros will do with great success)...you sit next to the mounds....for centuries you piss and crap on them thinking what a handy toilet with a view, no less...you chase your goats over them, like your assyrian ancestors did for centuries..and all this time you never once think to dig a little bit...you just drink tea and spawn more assyrian brats with Nanajan who will also be as dull and lacking in curiosity as their parents..... But...when the EUROPEANS come and THEY dig the ground and find YOUR history for you...you say..."Knew it all along...just didn't want to bother..." ......................................really? --------------------- |
