I will admit that I was also disgusted when I saw the video of the execution. That doesn't mean I was the biggest fan of Saddam, but rather that I oppose the ignorance of our country having put him in power (CIA, this is well documented), and I oppose how the "world police" invaded Iraq during Desert Storm I based on lies - the Incubator story in front of congress by the Kuwaiti Ambassador's daughter (this is well documented), intentionally targeted critical infrastructure and used depleted uranium weapons (again, war crimes that are well documented) and then convinced the Kurds to have an uprising, promised our support to them, and then watched them get slaughtered (again, well documented) in order to solidify Saddam's power as the "next Hitler". I ask, who killed more people, over a million innocent Iraqi civilians dead and justified (Secretary of State Madeline Albright, you war criminal animal) by the economic sanctions that have been shown to only bolsterSaddam's power and harm civilians (again, well documented), or Saddam killing Kurds and/or Iranians with US-supplied chemical weapons? How sad that Iraq and Iran were goaded into a war by the US, and how terrible it was for both countries. How sad that Iran has been interfered with by the CIA since the 50s, when the CIA instigated a coup (again, well documented). History seems to be lost on Americans. I wish we, Americans, collectively, would read up more about history and also about how terrible murder and other deeds have been done and continue to be done in our names each and every day, for decades. Sorry for the stream of consciousness. I hope it made sense to y'all. ________________________ Rashad wrote: >They were also too quick in removing the steel even as Bush was standing right there at the site with firemen and giving a speech. If Americans install dictators in other countries where they have interest, expect to have the same types at home but only much more corrupt. I see Saddam as ant compared to Bush and I must admit that I felt sick for a few days when he was executed. It was as if a part of me had died that day for some reason. --------------------- |
