And they didnt die 100 years ago they are still alive so you can ask them what they mean when they write not like your historians who write something than regrets it or are being forced to write stuff. The Argument that we are not from the ancient Assyrians im not eaven going to bother with. >Anybody who gives religion to much attention is a fool there are many other factors that are in play mainly economics and politics, so if you think im going to play along with your little game you are sadly mistaken. ...there are many things you donīt bother with...am education is obviously among them. You are in the position of the beggar who finds out, he thinks, that he is related to the Rockefellers...of course heīs not going to bother with finding out the truth...of course it completely slips his ego to think that the first thing people will wonder, on hearing of the supposed connection is...well, what happened to YOU? ..I donīt expect you to have the fortitude to peek under the covers to find out how we were all tricked into believing we are assyrians...I took a look and it was fascinating and much more interesting than your version...I mean how we were fooled and then gladly fooled ourselves...but, we havenīt fooled anyone else...yes, they pat you on your head and agree that you are assyrian, if you say so. They would do the same if you stuck a feather in your head and said you were an Apache chief....what do they care? But actual historians do care, which is why only Wikipedia says there are modern assyrians and then only because the so-called editors of that page have written that crap themselves...but no one else has...no reputable historian in the world has ever accepted our silly claims....and none ever will. But go ahed, BE assyrian...it only hurts you. It must make an odd sight for all of you to see me admiting that I am not assyrian and never was...after all, so many assyrians are PROUD of my sculptures and monuments...so many have taken photos in front of them etc....but the truth is that I was fooled...but stopped being a fool when I had the chance to LEARN, and not from Aprim or my grandmother. This is the step you canīt take...you like thinking you are assyrian because the alternative is anathema to you...if you were born in the MidEast, like I was, you are merely a Christian Iraqi, or Persian or Syrian...I realize you want to be anythign but a Christian ARAB...and thatīs what convinces you must be assyrian...because it makes you feel better, superior even...whatīs sad is that you are content to build an identiy on a lie, a lie you could easily expose with a little courage and a little reading. But you wonīt. ...some assyrian. --------------------- |
