One can ask the same question about others as well. Saddam comes to mind. Where would America be without him, and, boy, what a great employee he was. Before him, Middle East had no US bases, at least not like now, and he seemed to make things easy for them. If he had withdrawn from Kuwait just few hours prior, there would be no war, and then what would Bush have done? But he waits until the deadline and, here comes the US to the rescue with half million troops, and all kinds of weapons. Then we had Bin Laden who would come out with a new video whenever things weren't looking too good for the second Bush. Every time he was told to bring the troops home, or he was under any kind of pressure, another "suicide bomb" would go off or another video would come out in which Osama would threaten to attack when the Americans would leave. It is a fact that Khomeini was helped come to power by the US. He was living in France. Shah was once with CIA as well and then his time ran out. When your time runs out, they take you out and find a better one. I don't know what the deal is with Iran and we'll probably never really know who was and wasn't with the CIA, but it sure looks that the regime in Iran is playing right into the US game.
