Americans attacked Iraq because of 9/11. Was it Christianity that caused them to retaliate against Muslims by bombing an innocent country or was it just defense? Same when the Japanese attacked and the US response was atomic bomb on innocent people. What is the reason for Americans always at war for 200 years now? If Islam is the reason for Muslims defending themselves then what's the reason for Christians? It's even more absurd because this silly idea is advocated by atheists too.
