Every Iraqi I have spoken with, friends, etc, all say that the "ashureyen wa babyloneyn" are their ancestors. My old neighbor, whop passed away not long ago, was from the southern city of, Samawa, and this man was totally illiterate. I asked him about the Sumerians and wondered what he knew about them, and he asked me in arabic if I thought I was talking to a donkey, he said this in a humorous way. He finished by saying "tabbaan"course) and they are his ancestors. So I don't think there is an Iraqi that denies the ancients of Mesopotamia are their ancestors and they are proud of that heritage. In aprim's mind, someone who is Muslim, and proud of that, cannot be Assyrian. the town of Tikrit, where saddam came from, was a Nestorian town and everyone knows that. The entire area became Muslim at some point in history. If the Nestorians were all Assyrians as Aprim says, then are those Muslims today not Assyrian? And no, they were not forced to convert and nobody in Iraq was forcefully converted and the Muslims who speak Arabic and even identify as Arabs are not from Arabia, but they are the locals of Mesopotamia who embraced Islam at some point.

It was no more than a few thousand Arab soldiers that actually came to Iraq and fought the Romans and Persians over it. The entire Arab population did not migrate to Mesopotamia and Christians were still more than Muslims even few hundred years after Muslims were in control over it. The area became Muslim gradually and not just overnight or by being forced. That part of history which the nationalist and Aprim teaches is bullshit and lies. that's why wikipedia needs "verification" from an expert for the shit these dweebs write on their. They think they can write their own history as they desire and without any kind of challenge or response. The moment you go public, make demands and absurd claims, you better believe you will be asked for proof, refuted etc. This is how it works and that's how white people and any rational people operate.
