king Abgar was a myth they invented. As you said there was no such thing as Christianity until long after Jesus was already gone. If them mean to converted to the religion of Jesus in 33 AD as they claim, they would have been Jews who were at the time known as Ebionites, Nazareans etc. These people were like modern Muslims and the church noticed this similarity so I think that's why they so quickly destroyed all evidences and all we know about the ancient sects is what the mainstream church tells us; which is all doubtful. I was reading about the Paulicians who had their area in Armenia, and when Muslim rule came to that land,this ancient sect was on the side of Muslims and welcomed them. They were seen as heretics while Muslims respected them as people of the book. --------------------- |
