...that;s the reason our assholes claim they were massacred by Muslims; as a way of explaining away all those who converted because their taxes would be lower or they could get ahead in the dominant society....it's their way of saying there were zillions of us but that the Muslims killed us all! And then they trot out the tales of the martyrs....my favorite was the assyrian mother who allowed her seven sons to have their throats slit like sheep, bleeding to death, in turn, on their mother's lap rather than renounce Jesus....all I could think of when I was told this inspiring tale of mother-love among assyrians was that the mother was obviously deranged...as was the religion that lauded this kind of behavior...of course these were all lies.....the truth is that after their sons were butchered that Christian couple converted to Islam anyway....taxes were too high.
