I noticed that Maher also does the same when it comes to Judaism. I was watching his film, "Religulous" (which I really enjoy), but he goes too easy on the Jews, where as with Muslims and Christians, he's relentless. There's a scene when his interviewing an ultra-Orthodox Jew who's anti-Zionist and on his breast he's got the Palestinian flag pinned. Maher didn't even give him a chance... he got up and left before the man even barely began speaking. I know, Pancho, you're a solid athiest, but Hitchens, Maher and Harris, according to the Christian Left-existentialist, Chirs Hedges, who follows the tradition of Father Dan and Phil Berrigan; Graham Greene, who wrote the dark, insightful novel, "The Quiet American", and his own father, a former Presbyaryan preacher, points out that Hitchens and Harris constitute a culture of "fundamentalist athiests", with shades of rational racism - especially when it comes to Muslims and the Muslim world. --------------------- |
