This is the reason why I always felt most comfortable engaging in exchanges with my Jewish friends rather than any Assyrians or Iranians I know, except for you, Rashad and Jeffrey (when he's around). My friends would say if a person is not willing to get kicked around a bit, acquire a few scratches and bruises, how the hell is he/she to learn anything? I used to get so frustrated being told this and that is "ayba" or "eyb", as the Persians say, and it's not nice to question someone and call them on their bullshit. You can't learn to swim if you keep holding on to the edge of the pool in the shallow end, you gotta dive in the deep end if you really want to learn to swim. Otherwise, what's the point.. might as well sit in a bathtub full of water and play with your rubber ducky or ding your dong.
