Communists were passionately anti-Imperialists who's slogans were: "NEITHER EAST, NEITHER WEST, THE ONLY WAY IS THE THIRD WAY!" (and the "THIRD WAY", as you point out, was Paris, London and Los Angeles.) So, yes... I agree.
