>Paper money should be pegged to labor or goods. One dollar is worth ten minutes of labor...or x amount of eggs, or cheese. 90% of the people simply take whatever paper they get and exchange it for eggs, butter, bread, shoes, rent etc. Most of us donīt invest in anything except living. > >Anyway...it really is very simple....the only complication is that no more can you put money to work to make even more money, you have to put YOU to work. The very wealthy will lose their advantage...there will be no free money printed up by banks with which they can enslave people....the value of their holdings will drop...but the rest of us will feed our families and have health care etc. ### Before 1971 the US dollar was fixed, or tied to gold while all the world's currencies were tied to the US dollar. The US effectively went broke in 1971 at the height of the Vietnam War and when they realised that they couldn't sustain their world empire using stable fixed gold they floated their dollar and forced the rest of the world to float their currencies and effectively tied their dollar to Middle Eastern black gold reserves. Now while some are advoating a return to Keynesian suggestion to tie the world currencies to a basket of currencies called the bancor what you are advocating in tying the world currencies to human labor would mean the return to fixed exchange rates between nation states and a setup of nationalised banks that would invest their workers' labor into productive infrastructure projects and the good of society overall. --------------------- |
