on top of that the Romans didn't really start persecuting Christians until THEY became Christians themselves...till then it was very easy to avoid any punishment for being Christian AND there are letters written by Pliny the Younger to the emperor Trajan asking how to deal with Christians and receiving an answer that under no conditions should they be hunted out and if caught all they need do is light a stick of insence to the Emperor and they would be let go...after the Romans became Christians no "heretic" Christian could get off so easily....plus which the Roman Christians would search out Christians to persecute...and tortured and murdered hundreds of thousands just like the murdered Jesus. --------------------- |
