"…one more time…we are not interested in what the people called the Chaldeans in the 16th Century did, EVER! I don’t care who led them where, or what he wore or ate…it is meaningless to the point at hand. It also doesn’t matter if there was or wasn’t a Chaldea, because the pope who granted this title BELIEVED there was and we are, after all, discussing errors.…the point was: That the term Chaldean was attached to the church established in a geographical location thought to be called, at one time, Chaldea…as per the bible, by the pope…who sometimes reads that book…and that with the passage of time the former Nestorians in this newly created Catholic congregation known as Chaldean Catholics, began to believe that they were the Chaldean people ETRHNICALLY."

I agree with this, that's why I wrote what I wrote. But that is NOT what you said in your first post, which is what I replied to. YOu said "Something in Dr Joseph’s first chapter keeps going round in my head. He writes that the word “Chaldean” was of earlier use than Assyrian to describe our people, known till then as Nestrorians."

So that's why I said, Rubbish! The term "Chaldean" was coined by the Vatican a few hundred years ago. Whereas the term "Assyrian" was used not only by the Assyrians themselves, but ancient classical writers, and later explorers. That is what I was reacting to.

"and that the Roman Catholic Church chose that word as the description of the “place” or geographical location where the central church was located...and NOT, as we rushed to use it, as an ethnic title."

No one rushed to use this term except the Vatican and the converts to Chaldeanism, (i.e. today's Chaldeans). No ordinary Assyrian ever rushed to use this term, so we can't really say "we rushed to use it as an ethnic title". In other words, the source of the error was created OUTSIDE of Assyria, by foreigners, as usual, and we can't blame the Assyrians themselves for this error.

"This is the error, according to Dr Joseph, which I was discussing."

Now that you clarify it, we are on the same page.

"had you understood this from the start you could have spared yourself a lot of trouble…me, I like trouble."

Had you made it more clear to the reader, there wouldn't be any trouble. But Farid, I don't see "trouble" in discussing anything. That's how we learn about the truth, and from each other.

No one has PAID me a dime for ANYTHING I have done as an Assyrian. Therefore, I don't have an ulterior motive, no hidden agenda, or anything of the sort. I am NO ONE'S puppet, am not seeking a chair, nor a position, nor drawing a handsome salary from the school I am associated with, like Dr. Joseph, and
George Roux, nor do I care to be "published". So there's no incentive that will EVER make me deny the true history of ANYONE, much less the Assyrian people. And I have NEVER belonged to ANY church in my entire life, so I don't have a motive to take the side of a Nestorian against a Chaldean, and vice versa.

It was an honest attempt on my part to clarify the source of the error. Nothing more, and you should be happy that I even bother to discuss such issues, especially when these issues have played a major role in our devestation. You should know by now how I feel about ALL churches. They are all based on lies and self-promotion.
