I was watching the republican debate which my brother recorded and I saw how Ron Paul was talking about stop regulating, and then about cutting spending. When it comes to cutting spending, he mentions welfare, medicaid etc. Although I agree with his views on the empire and military spending, closing fed reserve, cia etc, he still full of shit when it comes to the social programs. He is very anti-socialism and he has every reason to be since he is wealthy. For him everything should be a business for profit and free market with nobody to watch over. Indonesia, Nigeria etc are all free markets as he likes and they are all disasters. Countries like Thailand and others lose billions of dollars because of unfair trades, exploitations and free markets. I agree with govt not being in our every part of our lives but regulation is important when it comes to protecting the little guys and workers. Welfare, food stamps and other assistance programs hardly cost anything compare to what the empire costs. I agree with his views on foreign policy etc but this is where I differ after that. He says in the 60s nobody was turned down for not having money and churches helped people pay bills so he is relying on that? His son has a eye clinic in Ky and he refuses to serve or accept people who don't have insurance or pay with cash. What is more crazy is that the people who support the tea-party are mostly poor Whites but radical Christians and that's where their problem comes from. My brother only jumps on Ron Paul bandwagon because he promises freedom and less government in our lives but he misses the point about what the real message is. --------------------- |
