>No! He'll decide that you are too stupid to understand anything else... Since you justify one MURDER with an example of another MURDER...

...I said nothing that would justify any murder. To explain is not to justify. The point was that the reason we give; "persecution", for Semele, is not the real reason. The Levies commited murders as well...and they broke laws...and they faced off the national army with weapons of their own, given to them by the British who were occupying their country illegally. It isn't me, but history and international law and practise too that seeks an explanation.

...The Assyrian refugees, who were not from Iraq at all, were causing the trouble. If their anger was with the Brits for breaking so-called promises, then it was between them and the Brits...Iraq was merely holding out a helping hand by opening its borders to us in order to save us....they were under no obligation to honor any British promises to anyone...just as the Palestinians never authorized the British to promise European Jews any part of THEIR country.

...What the Assyrian refugees DID, and not their religion, was the cause of Semele. If the Iraqi army had wanted to wipe out ALL Christians, they could have easily done it by killing everyone in Semele and moving on to all villages where Christians lived....they never did that, hence you have to look to a different reason for the action at Semele.

...and that's easy to fathom; tired of asking and reasoning, especially where Marshimun and his family was concerned...with "Lady" Surma being wined and dined in London, his family had been fooled into believing they really mattered to the British government, just like our dummies thought they mattered to the American government...Marshimun was convinced the Britiah would DO something if only he got his followers to refuse every offer from the Iraq government...and they made several which, I say again, they were never obliged to make at all, except that they took a humanitarian interest in our plight...I'm certain that Marshimun knew, beyond all doubt, that there would be armed conflict when he sent 1500 armed Assyrians marching across Iraq, and in fact wanted it...and that when it happened and we got our "martyrs" again, that the British would be forced, by the "world's outcry"...that WORLD we still think we have "tell" about our "suffering"...and they would ride to the rescue and demand satisfaction of the Iraqis and force on them what we demanded...and you'll notice the British did not a DAMN thing...even the ministers in the government were afraid that Britain might get involved and protest, but the Brits did nothing...because, like the Iraq army and government, they felt they had no choice left but to convince the refugees that there had no option but to become Iraqi citizens, like all the rest.

I defended nothing...excused nothing. I'm not on anyone's team, determined to make the other side look bad or lose. I just like to be accurate and I don't like whining crybabies who seek pity by distorting historical facts and the record. If Arabs had EVER wanted to wipe out Christians, it would have been a very, very easy thing to accomplish....the massacre in Semele was retaliation for acts committed by the Assyrian's who went to Syria and then returned and fought against the army of the nation of Iraq. They were clearly in the wrong...and that was only one inciodent of many leading up to it.

I offered only a clarification and an explanation based on the record and facts...not on propaganda and an appeal to emotions. Of course it was tragic...but it's a common enough occurrance and practised by Christian countries far more than Muslim...there wasn't ONE Iraqi among the 19...yet ALL Iraqis have been punished in an act of "retaliation".

It seems you people are a bad influence on Muslims.
