I was watching a documentary about a black southern journalist who has become best friends with a grand wizard of the ku Klux Klan and he was yelling at a crowd of white people and saying he loves and respects this black man more than all those "white niggers" around. That black man stood there smiling like an uncle Tom. The hatred is much deeper for the "nigger lovers" and liberals than for black people. Most racist don't see themselves as such and they see other whites against them so they target them more.
