Here's a quote I found from one the Users on a forum I frequent about Assyrians. "Most of Egypt is not really Arab. They Arabized. Most "Arabs" are not "Arab". That is recorded fact. So what's your point? Yeah so they say "Allah" but they aren't Muslims, hence the hatred. Switzerland only exists because they live in mountains and defend Mountain passes against ancient armies and pick them off with superior archers. if they lived on a plane, like Hungarians, I bet they would not exist, in fact they would never have tried for independence based on confederation, there would not be 100 dialects of Swiss German in 100 sq/km, etc. Everything would be different. Swiss people did not come together to form a "nationality" they came together to fight off oppressive "Lords", the nationality thing came decades if not centuries later. In any case if my fiancee was being treated like pure hell because she was Catholic and her last name was obviously nonGerman (actually her last name is only found in Switzerland) I would say the same thing. What the point of fighting? Over what? Why? You live like 80 years or so on this earth, if lucky, and to live like shit for what? Because of your name and a religion? Fuck that. What's the purpose? What benefit does that bring you? Your ancestors are dead. your only responsibility is to provide and support for yourself, and your family. You are not responsibility to what dead people wanted. Your biological responsibility is make sure your genes propagate, not to maintain an entire tribe that has been in slow free fall for thousands of years. Do you honestly think that for one minute, if my grandfather had a choice to live and grow up under Jim Crow or be white he would have stayed under Jim Crow? give me a fucking break. A good portion of his family disappeared for a reason in the lat 19th century. THey are likely the white folks living next to you right now. All this tribalism begets more tribalism, and begets more suffering, and for what? Is an Arab child less happy being Arab than an Assyrian child is down the street? Fuck no. The difference is that Assyrian child will grow up in a world where people will treat him like shit for being Assyrian where there is only a marginal unnoticeable biological difference (all things considered) his name and his religion (and religion is some mumbojumbo bullshit for low brows anyway). I don't think most people on this site are very religious, it is more about "maintaining tradition for the sake of tradition". Sorry, i dont' feel sorry for people who have a choice. THEY CHOOSE THIS. They know damn well Arab Muslims are never going to adopt multiculturalism, give me a fucking break. These are not white Western Europeans, won't happen. So either you get the fuck out or you adapt to your situation and create the best environment for your off spring possible. If it was my religion/last name or the betterment of my family. Fuck the last name and religion. There is nothing ignorant about pragmatism. If I stayed in Switzerland and gained citizenship (doubtful, but if I did) I would change my name to the German equivalent (there is one thankfully) because I don't want to mark my grandchildren, etc as foreigners in a nation I know people are not as multicultural as America. Why would I do that to them? So they can remember "where they came from" after several centuries? That benefits them how? I mean really? Will that make them study harder? LOL" --------------------- |
