Arabs have shown more tolerance in their history than the west has. I was born in the west and have faced all kinds of discrimination and racial profiling/slurs. There was no UN, US, etc in the past and these same christians in Iraq coexisted with Muslims of all kinds of background. It is no secret that there are different languages and ethnic groups in Iraq and that has never been issue. There are thousands of churches in Iraq and many of them being historic and old. The tolerance that muslims had shown to their minorities in their 1400 year history, europe never came close. Arabs never went hunting for Jews but Christians did so with other Christians, Jews, pagans and later Muslims as well. As for Egyptians, regardless of what their background is, anyone who speaks arabic at home is an arab. Being an arab is nothing more than someone who speaks it. There are arabs who are white with blond hair, to brown skinned and even blacks of african descent.

These "assyrians" of today are a product of the rise of nationalism which spread to the middle east via europe and it isn't arabs who can't tolerate other cultures but it's these very christians, who decided to hide behind the assyrian name, who can't and won't live with Muslims, yet these same people move to the west, use western names and integrate with white people.
