I think that another reason to spending on war, which is not their money anyway, is so they can have an excuse to cut back on services and have their dream of getting rid of social security come true. It is very wise to bankrupt the country with spending on war if it means getting rid of social services. The person who didn't believe you is the ridiculous one for not believing it. Does he think the money comes out of the pockets of the warmongers? It's never their money nor their families that die in wars.
