Real Americans don’t take sides with nations attacking America. To do so because you think there is some benefit in it for you makes you a traitor to America. And if it’s wartime, and you get caught cheering on the enemy or accepting a gift from them, you will be executed....if your neighbors don’t tear you to pieces first. It’s no different in Assyria today. Work for the nation attacking Assyria...accept a promise for benefits from the attacking nation, and you’ll be executed, if your neighbors don’t do it first. Where’s the surprise? How is this “persecution”? Do Christians mean that their religion exempts them from the normal functions of the law? Does being Christian remove you from the human community and its traditions? Can you betray someone “dear” to you, like say Jesus, because there’s a “golden opportunity” for you to benefit....like maybe an eternity in Paradise? It isn’t surprising they think like this because this is precisely what their religion promised them in the case of Jesus; betray him...let him be executed “for you”, and you’ll get an unheard of benefit...a real “golden opportunity”. If Christians are willing to have Jesus betrayed and murdered for them to gain paradise...why wouldn’t they as easily betray Assyria for the promise of some benefit, like a chunk of land? Bad habits are hard to break. Afro-Americans suffered like no Assyrian ever has. Millions were stolen from their homes. Their religions were forbidden them, their customs and languages made illegal. They were used as slaves, real ones...their children were taken from them, their wives, sisters, daughters and mothers violated right before their eyes...and even when they were supposedly freed, they continued to be persecuted, lynched, denied basic rights and freedoms until they took matters in their own hands and won universal applause for the steady and determined and largely peaceful manner in which they finally shamed white America into removing all legal liabilities and most customary and informal ones. If any group of people ever had cause to ask foreign nations to save them it was Afro-Americans. Had African nations been in a position to attack America in order to free their brothers and sisters, Afro-Americans would have been condemned and punished as traitors to America if they accepted the offer...even though America was abusing them at the time. There’s simply no excuse, no good reason, to call on foreign powers to come to your rescue. This is a problem you need to work out for yourself, or leave. As soon as you engage in treason you lose all sympathy and moral standing. And that’s exactly the position of Christian Assyrians today who beg the West for a “safe-haven”, in Assyria. To call for such a thing or advocate it from within the country is sedition, in wartime; treason...and sedition, never mind treason, is illegal everywhere on earth. The response to sedition is prosecution under the laws of the nation...it is not persecution....not even if you’re a Christian who imagines that every law you break which calls for punishment is instead an act of “persecution”. Christian bank robbers aren’t being persecuted when they face trial or imprisonment. No Christian kid can accuse his parents of persecution if he’s sent to his room without supper for breaking parental rules...not unless he’s a spoiled brat, or a nationalist. Michael Youash, an otherwise decent enough fellow, and his Iraq Sustainability Program plus all the other nationalists and groups calling for a chunk of Assyria are nothing more than part of the war on Assyria waged by the Christian West. These people and their organizations are welcomed by the American government as a convenient propaganda tool to be used whenever the people of Iraq need to be vilified and condemned before the world...as an aid in further intervention and interference...a supposed black-eye that can be used when needed. During the missionary era Christians were encouraged to make appeals to the queen of England and other foreign potentates for the same reason; to give moral or humanitarian justification for those powers to intervene when THEY wanted to...and for their own private ends. History shows us the number of times the Christians were betrayed and dumped to suffer the consequences of the treason and sedition they’d been encouraged to engage in. It’s no different today. Our nationalists are merely using the Christians still in Iraq for their own windy benefit...all the while weeping in public over their “plight”. A plight made a thousand times worse thanks to nationalist support for the “liberation” of Assyria...they have instead helped kill Assyria and Assyrians. The next Semele will be as much their doing as the last one...and they’ll just as adamantly play the victim’s part again...weeping before the world to come save them, finally “please”?...from their own foolishness. --------------------- |
