...watched a video of a rally in support of Robert...many spoke of how wonderful he is and how much Assyrians have suffered and how much he has done to try to help a few...one woman said the charges against him were "wrongful and hurtfull" in light of the persecution Assyrians have suffered. Nice sentiment, but what does that have to do with the charges? Are the charges valid or not? Did he coach people to lie or didn't he? Did the Feds catch him on tape or didn't they? Federal Courts have a frightening record of winning their cases by 96%....that means they don't bring charges unless they're sure...no frivolous prosecution, no "trying to get people who are persecuted". It's a simple matter of law...but no one at this rally spoke of this because it was a rally to support him, so the Law wasn't the issue. Assyrians confuse yet another instance of PROsecution with PERsecution...they can't tell the difference. Robert is not being persecuted by the Feds, he is being prosecuted for breaking the law and committing crimes AND inducing and coaching his clients to lie and commit crimes. As a lawyer he should know better and did....for this he deserves to lose his license, because a lawyer should not be teaching people how to break the law and get away with it. The only part of this that I fault Robert for is his encouraging people say their Muslim neighbors had attacked them, raped them etc., when none of it was true....he should have stuck to the simple truth; that the war of Christian nations against Iraq had placed local Christians in jeopardy and for that reason America should offer them asylum, but he didn't go that route, he chose to fabricate lies because he believed the atmosphere of lies and fear would work to his benefit...for THAT he should swing. --------------------- |
