many years ago, Pancho asked Jumblat(Bet-Shlimon)to show proof that Assyrians of today were always fully aware of who they were and he brought something after he basically released his load of Muslim hatred. What did he bring, you remember, Pancho? He brought us a small poem of few verses in which teh peasant who wrote it makes mention of Assyria being a "cool" place. That was all he could find and it's as if we were saying that nobody in the last 3,000 years had ever mentioned the ancient Assyrians and heard about them. The Nestorians were living in that region all along and reading the bible in which the ancients are mentioned but never did they associate themselves with those mentioned in their scripture. It was only after nationalism was on the rise in the region(imported from the west) and only after the discoveries by Europeans that the Christians of the region were named Assyrians, the same way Chaldeans were given their name by the Vatican. This post is not about Nestorians but I bring them up because I saw a comparison between the heroes of the past on this forum and our newest guest(Taoro). Jumblat brought us a couple of verses from a poem and that was his "solid facts" and the new one brings up the Janissaries of the Ottoman empire as evidence. If this is all he can come up with, then this will be an east refutation and we know they can't find evidence from reputable sources to justify their claims. The Janissaries were young boys(Christians at first, later Muslims as well) and they were highly trained to become soldiers, and they were everything from bodyguards of the Sultan to skilled in arts and literature and soldiers of course. They were TAUGHT Islam and RAISED as Muslims, not "forced". What this hero didn't mention is that they were paid for their works, they even had political power, got married and retired at certain age along with owning business and having government jobs after. This wasn't just some case of Muslims stealing Christian children, forcing them to become Muslims, forget their families and then send them of to be killed. Christians did such things in Australia, Africa, in the Americas and end in Europe. The Janissaries still had contact with their families and knew who their parents were. Jews and others weren't taken and it was only Christian boys at first and mostly from eastern Europe but later Turkish Muslims were allowed to become that too. The only reason this even started was because the Ottoman Caliphs were very wise and saw too much tribalism and their soldiers weren't always good at producing results. The Janissaries were highly trained and fully loyal to the Sultan and produced great result. They were highly educated and as I already mentioned, they were paid for their works. Christians didn't pay the parents that were killed so they can raise their children with Christianity nor did they pay the children who were seized from their families and forced to be Christian. No comparison at all between the two examples and the challenge to the nationalists and heroes still stands. It's not about rejecting whatever doesn't fit with our views(which is what they do), it's about providing evidence. Even If we were prejudice, that does not change the fact that we are presenting the works of well known and highly respected scholars and professors who are not following their own views but get to the bottom of it. We provide the evidence(even if it were supportive of our views, for the sake of argument) the same way they should be able to find evidence from someone of equal reputation as the historians to prove otherwise. Basically, historian vs historian, experts and prominent historians with evidence to prove the contrary. It's not a hard question. It's really simple. Just about every Assyrian nationalist and every fanatical Christian will say that everyone knows what Islam has done, what it's all about and that it has always persecuted and killed Christians and forced them to convert to Islam. And We are asking to provide support for those claims. Since there is "a lot' of it and "everyone knows" then this should be an easy challenge to meet and at same time put us to shame on this forum where you can use any user name, there is no creating an account process. Just type any name and fire away. This is a very easy chance to prove us wrong, yet we been waiting for years and every once in a while we get a hero who comes from under his hiding place to talk about monkeys, virgins and my dick and then go on running. Usually they give us their opinions about Muslims(as if we didn't already know they hate Muslims) and then they run again. The challenge still stands and will continue to stand until proven wrong. We don't provide links to the most bigoted and prejudice websites and it's only fair and would be nice if the heroes could provide something of equal qualification. I am not gonna accept the works of an amateur and compare it to the works of well known historians who teach at universities and are praised by other prominent historians. If I am provoking anyone with this concept, so be it but let's still bring the proof and meet the challenge we have issued. --------------------- |
