...that's what Americans most resemble. They spoil there own children to the point that they can't stand them by the time they reach 11, if not sooner...and these children grow up to spoil their own...by spoil, I don't mean they lavish them with gifts or feed them ice cream all day...I mean they give in to them....rather than make serious demands and place expectations, they rather sit them in front of something and distract them, for their own sake so they don't have to do any heavy lifting...except yell and threaten and scold and turn a cold gaze on them, which is personally satisfying to the parents, they get off on it, on the power of being able to deny or hurt the feelings of people younger and weaker than they are...even more powerless than they feel themselves to be in the fact of their boos, their jobs, the outside world, the universe.

When you are critical of their kids, the kids think you don't love them...when you deny them anything, they think you hate them. It's the same when you criticize America in front of the parents...they react with "you hate me", meaning America, which to them is the same thing.

A rational person expects more from his or her own children than from anyone else....for their own sakes, but also because you have to live with them and it makes it a lot easier and more pleasant if they, and you, are mature and sensible and logical and reasonable and KIND.

But not Americans...they would rather just indulge, give in and watch teevee themselves, or play computer games when no one is looking, or not.

We are a nation of brats....and spoiled children are the unhappiest of all...hence the national addiction to pills...any kind...and booze and drugs. Our lifestyle, far from being the envy of anybody, is making us sick...in a big way. Let's just hope we don't take everybody else's marbles when we finally go home.
